The members of AAUW-Kona have varied interests, and our branch strives to serve them all!  New groups frequently are suggested.

Book Group meets from 3-4:30 PM on the 3rd Monday of each month to discuss a book that has been selected by consensus.  This group takes a summer break and will meet on September 20th to start off the new year.  Contact Olivia Padilla  for more information.

Study Group is a discussion group which focuses on women’s issues.  This group is currently inactive and looking for leadership to resume.

Lunch Bunch is a group that visits Kona restaurants for mid-day meals and conversation.  They meet on the last Friday of each month at 11:30 AM.  Contact Bev Ruhaak for details and reservations.

Theater Group supports our local Aloha Theater in Kainaliu, but always watches out for other opportunities to attend events.  Currently there is no “leader”, but members who want to attend performances act as the ticket sales person for others Events are scheduled as they are made available.

Movie Crew provides our members with company to view and discuss movies of interest.  This group attends matinees, scheduled by Marjorie Winfough as the local theaters show them.

Keiki Story Time is an interest group that serves the youngest in our community (and their parents) with monthly events to read, create crafts, enjoy snacks, and play games.  Each event is focused on a theme and is co-sponsored by Kona Stories, an independently owned book store in Keauhou Shopping Center which is co-owned by an AAUW-Kona member, Joy Vogelgesang.
